Customer Service Representative - Part Time

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Customer Service Representative performs customer service activities for both internal and external customers, and both Dealer and Direct sales channels to maintain high customer satisfaction.  Activities include addressing inquiries, processing orders, and resolving any emerging problems that customers might face with accuracy and efficiency. In the business support role, you will also provide support to business partners to maintain overall satisfaction and increase business performance.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Professionally addresses customer inquiries as received by phone, web, fax, US mail, and email.
    • Identifies and assesses customers’ needs in order to provide solutions as efficiently as possible.
    • Applies knowledge about company policies, procedures, products, services, and pricing to best meet customers’ needs and recommend best solutions. Takes initiative to communicate promotions and upsell when possible.
    • Resolve product or service problems by determining the cause of the problem, selecting, and explaining the best solution, processing corrections, adjustments, and returns. Follows up to ensure resolution.
    • Refers technical issues to technical service team as needed.
    • Informs product management regarding customer feedback and/or trending product issues and feature requests.
    • Makes outbound calls to provide quotes, clarify orders, track deliveries, and participate in assigned calling campaigns.
  • Processes customer orders and communicates any order delays or discrepancies back to the customer, sales representative, or dealer partner as applicable.
  • Maintains knowledge of current pricing and promotions and organizes related information to be readily available on calls.
  • Creates and updates records in company’s CRM system and shared drive to ensure customer and marketing data is accurate and up to date. Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating opportunities and tradeshow campaigns; updating accounts and contacts; entering and processing tradeshow, web, and call-in sales leads; and forwarding information to assigned Dealer or Direct sales representative on a timely basis.
  • Collaborates with others to create and improve standardized customer service work procedures and creates and maintains documentation of assigned procedures.
  • Participates in cross-training for self and cross-training others.
  • Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years of telephone customer service and order entry experience. Some post-secondary education is preferred. Experience using a CRM or ERP system is also required. Experience using ACD phone lines preferred.

Language Ability:

  • Intermediate Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Ability:

Education Sales Consultant

Job Summary

The Education Sales Consultant is responsible for generating sales revenue, in an exclusive, multi-state sales territory, by making product presentations primarily to educators in the K-12 market through a combination of onsite and web-based meetings. The ideal candidate will live in or around the Twin Cities Metro area. The position requires a consultative sales approach to introduce product solutions to the education market. Compensation is comprised of base salary plus uncapped commission. Base Range is between $55k-65K depending on experience with first year targeted earnings between $80K-$100k. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary duties involve making sales, soliciting sales, and performing duties incidental to sales.
  • Follow an approved consultative sales process such as Professional Selling Skills (PSS) to complete an average of 6 sales presentations per week via scheduled self-booked phone appointments (virtual demos) and onsite meetings.
  • Dedicates appropriate time to prospecting, presenting, and following up in order to create new customers and meet established demo and sales quota.
  • Follows up with prospects on a timely basis via email, telephone, and web conferencing tools to convert leads to product presentations and closed sales.
  • Plans weekly itineraries and schedules meetings for product presentations in order to meet company activity level expectations.
  • Prepares accurate and timely customized quotes to prospective customers in the assigned territory.
  • Generates additional sales by strategically targeting other prospective customers and soliciting referral business to meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Maintains strong, ongoing relationships with existing customers in order to enhance the customer experience and secure future sales and referrals.
  • Collaborates regularly with management and peers, both in Direct Sales and other departments, to contribute ideas for strategizing and executing sales opportunities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommends and plans for attendance at conferences/trade shows, and customer visits, in order to establish relationships with new and existing customers. Keeps within budgetary constraints. May be asked to work occasional trade shows on weekends.
    • Overnight travel within the territory may be required. Up to 2 nights a month
    • Provides regular sales forecasting as required by management.
    • Follows established processes and procedures for gaining leads, presenting solutions, quoting, documenting completed product presentations, placing orders, closing out won and lost opportunities.

Sales Stewardship

  • Responsible for managing sales focused initiative projects
  • Along with the sales manager take part in other Divisions projects as the voice of sales
  • Fluent in all Sales Tools to include Salesforce
  • Attend National and State Trade Shows when called upon

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Requires post-secondary education in business, marketing, education or related field, plus previous consultative B2B sales experience. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Current or previous educators with consultative B2B sales experience strongly desired.
  • Previous successful consultative sales experience, especially in the education market.
  • Strong follow-up skills.

Language Ability:

Intermediate skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and training manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
