VariQuest is seeking an Education Sales Consultant to manage an established territory in the Chicagoland area. This territory has a long history of success and includes a large customer base, providing opportunities for both new business development and account growth.

Compensation
- Base Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 (depending on experience)

Position Overview
The Education Sales Consultant is responsible for generating sales revenue throughout Illinois by prospecting, conducting product demonstrations, building customer relationships, and helping schools identify solutions that support their educational initiatives.
Success in this role comes from maintaining a high level of activity, building strong relationships, and utilizing a consultative sales approach to uncover school needs and align VariQuest solutions accordingly.
Product demonstrations are conducted through a combination of virtual meetings and in-person visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct an average of six scheduled product demonstrations per week through a combination of virtual and in-person meetings
- Develop and manage a territory sales plan to achieve activity and revenue goals
- Prospect for new business opportunities within K-12 schools and districts
- Schedule and conduct product presentations with educators, administrators, and district leaders
- Follow an established consultative sales process to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Prepare and deliver customized proposals and quotations
- Maintain consistent follow-up activity through phone, email, video conferencing, and in-person meetings
- Build long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat purchases and referrals
- Maintain accurate records, opportunities, and forecasts within Salesforce CRM
- Collaborate with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to support territory growth
- Attend regional and national education conferences and trade shows as needed
- Participate in strategic sales initiatives and special projects

Travel Requirements
- Local travel throughout Illinois
- Occasional overnight travel (typically no more than two nights per month)
- Attendance at select regional and national education conferences and trade shows

Education Market Strategy Analyst

Job Summary:
The Education Market Strategy Analyst will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by connecting education funding opportunities, customer intelligence, and market insights to actionable sales and marketing strategies. This position identifies and analyzes funding sources across K–12 education markets, develops sales targeting priorities, creates customer-specific messaging and talk tracks, and provides strategic recommendations that help sales and marketing teams effectively engage schools and districts.
The ideal candidate combines analytical thinking, education market expertise, CRM proficiency, and strong communication skills to translate complex data into practical recommendations that improve sales effectiveness and market penetration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
- Education Funding Intelligence - Research, monitor, and identify funding opportunities available to K–12 schools and districts to align and develop recommendations for VariQuest products
- Sales Intelligence & Prioritization - Analyze CRM data, customer profiles, district demographics, purchasing history, and funding indicators to identify high-potential sales opportunities, patterns, and target planning
- Sales Enablement – Create & equip sales team with funding-based talk tracks, messaging guides, and customer engagement strategies. Responds to RFP needs.
- Market Strategy & Promotions – Design, recommend, and analyze product-promotional campaigns based on CRM data, education funding cycles, purchasing trends, and market opportunities.
- Market Segmentation & Customer Insights - Develop and present recommendations for engaging distinct education audiences, identifying key decision-makers, purchasing motivations, budget influences, and communication preferences for each segment.
- Reporting & Strategic Analysis - Create dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate funding opportunities, market trends, and sales priorities.

Computer Skills:
- Proficiency working with MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint).
- Familiarity in working with AI platforms to organize and gather data insights (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce.com, Microsoft Power BI) a plus
- Familiarity with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel) a plus
- High Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and economics. Ability to manage project-based budgeting needs.
